How can you translate the mental focus you need in climbing to life? To answer
that, you need a clearer understanding of how to focus attention in climbing. Being mentally fit
on a rock climb needs to be simple and practical. That helps you replicate it each time you
climb.
Be prepared for a fun and inspiring presentation called Translating Mental Training from Climbing to Life, led by Arno Ilgner, who will share stories from climbing along with his successes and failures on routes. He’ll also share stories from life (or literature) that will help you personalize the material to your own life.Â
Meet fellow climbers and get connected with the Atlanta Climbing Club.
Stick around til the end for a chance to win climbing gear from our new Free Wall Kit!

Arno Ilgner distinguished himself as a pioneering rock climber in the 1970's and 80's. In 1995, after searching the literature and practice of mental training, Ilgner formalized his methods and created "The Warrior's Way", and began teaching full time.Â
Ilgner has taught clinics across the US and abroad and currently calls Tennessee his home and climbing grounds.
